Jim’s Driving School is pleased to announce that we now offer a Ministry Approved Digital Online Driver Education program.

This program can be completed at your home with your own time and pace.

The complete driver training program at Jim’s consists of:

20 Hours of Online Program Theory 

  • The students will be able to interact with the many elements of the program contents.
  • Course content will cover the following:

7.Different points of attention a driver will experience.Listing inside and outside vehicle distractions, myths and facts related to impairment, strategies to avoid impaired driving, types of impairment.
8.Respect and responsibilities in the driving environment.The benefits of fuel-efficient driving and fuel-efficient driving techniques.

10 Hours of Private In-vehicle Training 

Once the online portion of the program has been completed, the in-vehicle training can start.

All private in-vehicle lessons are pick-ups from home,work, school or as arranged meeting place.

*Please note, the students that live outside of town will have to make arrangements for a meeting place as arranged by our office.

All training programs are conducted one by one according to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) safety standards. Upon completion of your B.D.E program, each student will be certified electronically with the MTO.This will provide proof of completion that allows a student to take their driving test in eight months.

The student can request a Drivers License History (DLH)from Service Ontario two weeks after being certified by Jim’s Driving School. Please note the Service Ontario will charge you a fee for the DLH Form. Students need driver license history as proof of Beginner Driver Education Completion for possible insurance discount.
